Josh approached Graham with the idea of a photographic portfolio to help get more work in the Acting and Modelling world. Being disabled was not going to hold him back. We talked through our ideas and planned a shoot in advance – you will see why.

Coffee and a camera – we chatted and took images in the relaxed setting of Urban Coffee in Birminghams vibrant Jewellery Quarter. I try and get subjects to almost forget that I’m taking shots, talking and engaging with both the model and customers (which I used with permission to frame this shot.)

A relaxed and personable portrait of the subject in casual attire. I’m not about taking hundreds of shots – I’m into making shots that count, putting each model / actor in a number of different scenarios – telling a story and having them look as versatile and different as time and budget allows.

A clean shave – one of the reasons we took the portfolio a week or two in advance, we could get a chance to portray Josh both shaved and clean cut – here’s the transformation in progress.

This guy means business. Corporate street portraiture putting the model in a whole new category. A small number of streets and angles were chosen to get this commercial / editorial looking image. Sharp shooting.

A vibrant and atmospheric studio portrait. Graham doesn’t want you to look like everyone else, we’re trying to get your image noticed. To stand out from the crowd. To be the one chosen when clients are looking through your competitors boring shots!

Ramping up the atmosphere – adding drama to the striking and confronting pose. Birmingham studio photography with professional lighting and use of colour that makes the image come alive. Close cropping and judicial use of Lightroom and Photoshop bring the finishing touches.

Actors – Models – Dancers – Performers – DJs – Make up Artists – Business Men and Women – Musicians and many more …. all benefit from having striking imagery.

And finally – Josh used my photos to land a 12-month bursary to attend a prestigious acting school in London. I hope he goes from strength to strength!
