FAQ

How quickly do you respond?

I respond as quickly as I can, usually same day. Phone as your first option if it’s really urgent.

What are turnaround times?

If I can get them to you next day, then I will. However, we will have had payment up front to do this.

My delivery of images?

I will put together a contact sheet of the photos that work, send that so you can see you have some great images to choose from, and if you’re happy and payment has been made, then I can release hi-res files. Usually via WeTransfer.

Will you do this for free or for exposure?

No! (Although if you have a very good cause or a charity who wants to do something completely different, then I have done a shoot in exchange for a coffee and a T-shirt.)

Do you have your own studio?

Not since Covid. I hire studios frequently and choose them on location, or for suitability, availability and how they look.

If I’m having a boudoir or nude photo session, may I bring a chaperone?

Yes, by all means. If that person wishes to get photographed, then extra charges apply.

Are you experienced in this type of photography?

Yes! If it’s on my website, then I will have shot in this genre previously. It’s over 25 years of being freelance. We’ll shoot anything on site or in the studio.

What are your terms regarding copyright and usage?

All the images are yours once they are paid for in full. I may ask to use images, usually for my website or media, but it’s your call.

How discreet are you? “I would not want my photographs seen by others.”

I never use your shots without first getting permission from you.

What areas do you cover?

Geographically my main work is Midlands based, but I regularly shoot in Manchester, Chester, Bristol and cover both Wales, Oxford and Cambridge. I also know tried and trusted professionals that cover most of the UK and Ireland. I’m confident that I can usually source someone good wherever you need them.

How many photos will I receive?

Lots! There is never a perfect answer to this, but it’s incredibly rare to hear clients needing more.

The most used phrase I hear when doing both business and corporate portraits is “I hate having my photograph taken.” The most frequent phrase I hear when I show them the photos on the back of my camera or on my laptop is “Oh, that’s perfect!”

I’m often asked what is my style of photography – Friendly!
