Given the chance to work with someone completely in tune with nude art, it was magical to come together and celebrate not only the unbelievable art on his body, but also the artwork he produces on canvas.

As a freelance tattoo artist, the subject enjoys being given free rein or working to a client’s brief. From Siamese fighting fish to headless ninjas, from the stunning Katsushika’s Wave to entwined bodies depicted in high contrast across any part of the body, his range is remarkable.

His own body art is an eclectic mix of images created by some of the most respected tattoo artists. The colours and level of detail are exquisite. It was fascinating to photograph him nude and showcase his personal tattoo journey.

Graham’s vision was to incorporate three looks into one memorable photograph.

On the left, a dramatically lit image of the subject nude, posing with considerable confidence.

In the centre, a self-portrait by the artist, painted on canvas and displayed on an easel in his Birmingham studio. This version had a slightly darker tone, aiming to express the inner turmoil that artists are often prone to. With dark eyes and an edgy message, it was completed in time for Graham to include in the final triptych.

On the right, the artist is shown at work, painting nude. This rear view highlights both the male figure and the colourful art that covers his body.

The three images were combined with great effect, helping to tell the story of the artist.

Alongside the main photograph, a serious and powerful portrait was also created. It gave the artist an image that would gain traction and present his more reflective side.

Headshots should be both memorable and meaningful. They should make the viewer want to know more. Your portrait is much more than a selfie. It is a chance to be creative and personal.

A cool and cheeky duo combination was also produced, in both black and white and full colour. This male nude shoot was something both the artist and photographer could be proud of.
