With a brand-new Marketing and Events manager at the prestigious private members golf course at Druids Heath – Aldridge, it was time to re-think the overall profile and pictures currently used.

The whole raft of marketing material was both tired and dated – who better to call than Graham?

I’m unsure as to the number of competitors in the frame – but I am told that I was the only professional photographer that offered to meet up for a chat and a drink and the chance to put forward a lifetime’s ethos of creating memorable and meaningful images.

The outgoing brochure was full of images of the Golf Course: Grass and Trees and Sky and more of Grass and Trees and Sky and yet more… (you get the picture).

I explained those type of shots are not me at all!

“I want people, I want lifestyle, I want golfers – walking into and out of frame, I want interesting and well composed, eye catching photographs.”

This first one features a genuine ladies member leaving one of the beautiful greens throughout the course.

The Golf Shop – and the Golf Pro. Everyone knows what a golf shop looks like – so let’s shake things up with a reimagining of what you expect to see.

Present your pictures in a new way, see things from a different angle. Tell people about the choice and friendly and approachable staff in a striking montage.

Branded goods – shown in a striking fashion – putting the viewer in amongst the action (did you see what I did there?). On the edge of the green on one of the nicest days of summer.

The Clubhouse sun terrace – again I’m always after a striking shot. A warm and inviting ambience that attract both members and guests alike. Is there anywhere nicer to be in Aldridge, than having a relaxing drink with friends and fellow golfers?

A story telling shot that says so much more than the club’s previous pictures. Always looking for different viewpoint.

Food is served – another friendly face that welcomes the viewer in. Did you know that Druids Heath Golf Club does barbecues? You do now – and you know that is served with style from a master Chef.

The Weathervane – caught late evening with a beautiful dramatic sky. This photograph shows both the banding and logo – made real. Tell which way the wind is blowing and where you should be heading.

The Clubhouse Time to Rock – Rooms for Hire. Don’t just show an empty room – or a meeting room full of chairs – Hire a venue with some style, get in on the action, let’s get rocking, let’s get loud, let’s make a statement about exactly where we want to be (and who we want to shoot our project!)

The Clubhouse Flying the Flag – another well framed photoshoot, the final image from the evening session. The nighttime lights are on and welcoming in the distance. Meanwhile Graham is busy creating a view by holding the flag and the pro Nikon camera, with a slow shutter speed to make this shot work (it was worth the 13 frames – to get this one).

The final brochure – I think the pictures speak for themselves!
