When London-based Sweaty Betty, a global leader in women’s active wear, got in touch with Graham, he was, of course, delighted.
With the imminent launch of not one but two major name shops at the West Midlands’ go-to shopping destination – McArthur Glen – Cannock, preparations were in full swing.
A very early start ensured Graham was on site for 7 a.m., so that both stores could be photographed both inside and out, looking clean, tidy and at their best.

Merrell outdoor footwear is a prestigious brand committed to creating a sustainable and inclusive culture. Since 1981, they have made their presence felt across the globe. What’s cooler than a new pair of trainers and hitting the great outdoors? Or even better, photographing them in situ in the shop, and even being juggled!

Social media for McArthur Glen, a designer discount shopping outlet with over 90 million visitors worldwide, was abuzz. Fresh from shooting for Marks and Spencer in Stratford-upon-Avon (see previous blog), it was a pleasure for Graham to be asked to shoot for Saucony at Cannock, West Midlands. The brand has been established since 1898, with an extensive range of athletic shoes, jackets, hoodies, t-shirts, hats and backpacks.

Not your average PR shots – get them engaged, make sure they are looking towards you, the photographer, the guy with the camera – not the people with phones! Make the trainers prominent, get them to pose; it’s never just a lineup! Or even get the staff on board to juggle the merchandise!

Sweaty Betty received a host of internal store views, close-ups, visual marketing material, in-store point of sale, special discount areas and displays.
Outdoors, they were furnished with storefront images with minimal reflections on the glass, as Graham always carries a polarising filter to help minimise unwanted distractions.

Cutting the ribbon – the shot you do expect to see, just a little closer, a little more action, and a lot more gusto, featuring the store manager raring to go.
